Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs

Happy Friday to you!!  Enjoy your long weekend!  I  intend to since we will start school on Tuesday! :/

Today we are having a flashback at McMahon Five Designs and I have a couple of Christmas cards to show you.  I usually make these all year long, but for some reason, this year I am waaaaay behind in that effort.  These are rather CAS but I still love the look of them and will be happy sending them to friends and family.

These images are from Simply Christmas by Studio 313 by Shawne.  This is an awesome set with 56 images in it!!  56!!!  And it is currently on sale in the M5D Store!!! :)  Go check it out!  The images come in outline and every color.  The sentiments are in every color, too.

I printed the image in the middle of my white cardstock, embossed it using Darice "Damask" folder,  printed an extra image and fussy cut it, matted the image and sentiment with scrap cardstock, and added a fork bow to the ornament.

Please take a moment to see the rest of the DT's creations on the M5D BLOG!  Lots of wonderful inspiration for you today!!

Happy Tuesday!!  Sorry but this is another scheduled post.   I was supposed to get back yesterday from Saskatchewan where I was for my nephew's wedding, but I'm still not home yet.  It was a great time with family!!  And I got to cuddle my great-nephews lots and lots!!  They are soooo sweet!

Quick anniversary card

Just a quick post before I take off for my trip!  This is a one layer card.  I think these are really hard!!  It was difficult to resist the temptation to add something to this, but I fought hard and persevered! :)

All I used was a Sizzix embossing border and my score board.

I did add some glitter with a sparkle pen on the letters.

Challenges...
The Paper Players #159 - one layer card
Pile It On #33 - no design paper
Word Art Wednesday #94 - anything goes

Though this is a CAS card, I was exhausted!  LOL  It's hard not to add any frills or DP!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

25 years!! -TMS #212

Today is our 25th anniversary!!   Wow!!  I have been blessed with 25 years of marriage with the most wonderful man on earth!! (That's just MY opinion, of course!)  I am so thankful for the man the Lord gave me!!!  (Scroll all the way down for then & now pics, if you dare!)

When I was a kid, they had "Silver Anniversary" parties for the "old people" that had been married for 25 yrs.  But I sure don't feel as old as I used to think those people were!! LOL

So today is a special day for me, but it is also special because it's Tuesday and time for Tuesday Morning Sketches!

Here's my card for my sweetie!!

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs and they graciously provided the DT with wonderful stamps to play with!!  Thanks so much!!

Here's our great sketch by Melissa...

With that sentiment, I had to have some sparkle somewhere so I used a sparkle pen on the heart...

Supplies...
~DRS Interlocking Heart Background
~DRS Song in my Heart Greeting
~Basic Grey "Infuse" DP
~Cuttlebug "Love Language" embossing folder
~MTC basic shape heart
~sparkle gel pen and ribbon scrap

Altered box

Graduation season is over, but I've got a grad gift to show you that I made last month.  Sometimes you don't have a clue what to give for a gift.  This was one of those times, but I thought that any young lady would enjoy a box for keeping special things.

I got the box at Hobby Lobby and though I already have waaaaaay too much paper (not really!!), I found this stack and loved it!  It is "Poetic Postage" by Paper Studio.  Love it!!

I found a few embellies that I thought would match and went home to create.  Here's what my girls and I came up with...

I adhered the paper and used Mod Podge to give it a nice finish.

I inked a doily for the top and added a bling flourish and the flower (that came from M's)!   Ribbon around the top that I dyed with distress ink.  It kind of was a pain to adhere so I hope the bow stayed on!!

The butterflies were cut from a page and placed to hide the seem that I didn't get quite perfect! :)   We were really happy with how it came out and it was really fun!  Hopefully, we'll be making more altered boxes before too long!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sweet kitties!!

We have 3 cats at our house.  They are so sweet!  **most of the time!  I do love kitties, so the Kitten Trio set from his month's release at Doodle Pantry was right up my alley!

But I will have to tell you that these kitties gave me trouble!  This is the third card they were on... I tore the others apart because I wasn't satisfied.  I'm still not totally thrilled with this, but I needed to finish a card!

My coloring is not the greatest but I used 2 of our kitties for inspiration.  Ours are different colors, but I tried to sorta kinda copy their coloring pattern.  Aren't Patch and Pixie cute?

Our third cat, Peanut, is part Maine Coon so he is big and fluffy!!

Supplies...
~MME "Dolled Up" DP
~Darice Chevron Background embossing folder
~Spellbinders Labels Eight
~brads and twine
~Doodle Pantry Kitten Trio

Challenges...
Simon Says Stamp Monday - "Make the cut" use die cut (I used Spellbinders Label 8)
Terrific Tuesday - digi fun  (? date is passed but linky still open ?)
Little Scrap Pieces - linky party

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

McMahon Five Designs New Release Day

Happy Friday to you!!!  At McMahon Five Designs, there are so many fun new sets that this is the second week in a row that we are 'new releasing'!   Be sure to visit the M5D BLOG to see all of the releases and the DT's wonderful creations!!

I am totally not ready for "back to school" mode!  One blog friend told me that their kids went back this week!   I'm thankful that it's not until after Labor Day around here!  (Shh! Don't tell my kids, but I plan to make them do a couple of days the week before that!! *evil grin*)

With homeschooling, we don't have to do a lot of 'back to school' shopping, but we still need pencils, paper, glue, etc.   I enjoy that part of back to school.  This card was made using School Supplies Color & Outline from Daydream Designs...

I cut an extra crayon box and popped it up

Lots of fun images in this set perfect for school projects...

This card is "take 2"!  The first time, I combined my images, printed the page out, and was all ready to put my card together when I realized I had the crayons upside down!  If you click on the pic, it will show larger and you can see the word 'crayon' on them.  I never paid any attention to that until I saw I had arranged them ALL with the word upside down!!  Duh!

Supplies...
~Daydream Designs School Supplies Color & Outline images
~Daydream Designs School Days Sentiments
~Darice "Dots" embossing folder
~SU Old Olive, Really Rust, Crushed Curry, Soft Sky
~buttons and cord from stash

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!  It will be really great when you go to the M5D BLOG and see all the creations!!  :)

Supplies...
~Delicious Doodles Snowy Postbox

~My Craft Spot "Joy to the World" sentiment
~Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles
~sparkle gel pen

I added a bit of sparkle to the snow

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Air mail

Birthday Black Eyed Susan

Today I've got a quick birthday card to show you.  It was fun and very quick and easy to make.  (I made it last month but didn't post it!!)  It totally looks like more work than it was!!  Don't you just love these kind of cards?? :)

It was quick because I used a colored image... and I also used digi paper... 3 digi papers, but they were already combined this way!  Laurie had done all the work for me!! LOL  (The sentiment is from Paper Pretties that I had printed and it was just sitting on my desk waiting to be used.)

My image and digi paper are from Doodle Pantry...  Black Eyed Susan
**This set is $2.75!  I have to say, I don't know where else but Doodle Pantry that can you find sets including both colored and outline images plus sentiments plus digi papers for such a great price!!
FYI -- everything is on sale 25% off until tomorrow, Aug 8!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #210

Hello, all my friends in blog land!!  In yesterday's post, I was commenting on how quickly this summer is going by!!  I do want to apologize because my visiting of your blogs has been terrible!   I thought I'd have lots of time this summer to relax and create and "surf the net."  HA!!  The next few weeks will be just as crazy so I can't make any promises but I do hope to do more creating and more visiting soon!

That had nothing to do with this post, but I just wanted to whine a little!

Happy Tuesday!!  Time for Tuesday Morning Sketches #210!!

We are happy to have Imagine That... digis by Kris sponsoring this week!

Here is our sketch for this week...(by yours truly!)

My card...

In this close up shot, you can see I used a sparkle
gel pen on the embossing and her bow.

I used Hedgie Friends.  So cute!!

The bottom DP is digi paper from IT's Sweet Pastels set.  I used CB "Heritage" embossing folder, AC ribbon, Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles, and a sparkle gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to go check out the creations from the rest of our DT...

Summer fun!!

Am I the only one who feel like this summer is just flying by!!!  I hope you're getting in some summer fun!!  We would probably be at Six Flags today if my dryer wasn't broken. :(  So instead of riding roller coasters, I am waiting for the repair man to show.   But that's ok if it means I don't have to go the laundromat.  With 6 people in our family, we make piles and piles of laundry!!!   Will you feel sorry for me if I tell you that my vacuum is also in the shop?   No problem... if I can't clean, I might as well craft!! ;)

Back to summer fun... here's a birthday card I made for a boy who LOVES to swim!!!

It's a spinner card!

I kept the design simple so nothing would 'catch' while he was spinning.  I did stamp and emboss tiny dots to make it look like water drops...

Supplies...
~DCWV paper
~boy from accessories from Everyday Paper Dolls
~Peachy Keen Character Face Assortment
~TPC Studio sentiment
~baker's twine

Challenges...
Fantabulous Cricut #172 - "make a splash"
Cut It Up #24 - Celebrate summer + die cut
Peachy Keen 13-31 - anything goes (must use PK stamp)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!  I hope to be back with more creations later today.  I spent most of last week sewing  things that HAD to get done, so paper crafting was low(er) on my priority list.
